Did you root the cuttings yourself? If so, good job! What time of year did you take them?

Good job! I was thinking of taking some calamondin cuttings too (been planting seeds lately). How long did it take for yours to see new growth? Also I was wondering, does the Citrus Tone package say its good for container citrus?

I may be wrong, but the leaves in the bottom most photo look nutrient deficient. I doubt that Ctrus-tone will correct that because it does not appear to have all the micronutrients required by citrus. Try
Foliage Pro 9-3-6, instead becuase it does have all the nutrients.

Great job on the cuttings , I never had a lot of success with citrus cuttings so usually I take the air layering route . what did u use - just rooting powder ?

Doesnt compost and vermiculite both retain water and overtime the compost cause compaction . but it sure is working for u , so good on u .

Sorry for the delayed response. It has been a very busy couple of weeks with a new university semester in addition to my research!

I did not take these cuttings myself, I apologize if this thread was misleading in that regard. In fact they were purchased from Flora Exotica. I believe they were rooted almost immediately before I received them. I re-potted them hoping to get some growth.

Epsoma citrus tone does not give instructions for container growing, but I have found that using it does an excellent job to encourage new growth and flower production. use 1 tsp per gallon, biweekly. I sprinkle it around the edge and water it slowly into the soil, otherwise it will run off. Occasionally (monthly?) I will use foliage pro. Almost every citrus plant I have fertilized with it has new growth and/or is flowering/fruiting.

Dev, I'm not sure about compaction, but I have followed Laura's advice and have purchased Repti Bark. I will use it when I (eventually?) repot my Australasian Finger Lime and the rest of my citrus.

I'm currently in the process of obtaining my PhD in atmospheric science. I study how turbulence generated by vehicles on highways affects the dispersion of pollutants such as water vapor and carbon dioxide. I also run tutorials and labs for science courses. So I guess you could consider it a form of teaching!

They certainly look happy , especially the Calamondin , didnt know Perry sold new cuttings . Btw thanks for the Mars2 suggestion , i bought the 900 one .

Stefan, that is interesting. I have a PhD in environmental health sciences and my research involved evaluating the effect of atmospheric pollutants (generated by vehicles on the D.C. Beltway) - specifically ozone and particulate matter on the pulmonary function of elite cyclists. There seem to be many scientists in this citrus forum...lol!

Does any of those studies affect weather..Like let's say Rain? I didn't realize we had such smart people here..Nice to be a part of you all....Nice..I should of stayed with my studies on weather...I miss school.....

LOL Mike. Thanks for the kind words! I think the rain issue would be more along the lines of Stefan's field of study. I am mostly an air pollution/health effects gal...;-)
