It seems like white is really your only choice.

Since my appliances are white right now what about a light to med gray? Would that not be too much white going on with cabinets white?

White cabinets would look great here! A relatively small kitchen so anything dark will make your kitchen feel much smaller. Plus with white appliances now, they will blend with white cabinets and look really nice with stainless once you phase those in! Good luck, it's going to look fantastic!

I would go white, as gray will not go with the floor or backsplash.. I don't know what your budget is, but white would work all around and not require you to start changing other things. Gray is very trendy now, but white is timeless. Best of luck!
