I think the prickles may not be to everyone's liking, but it has never poked me, unlike Jubilee Celebration (the leaves have hooks on the back).

This is one on my list. I love crimson/purple shades with strong scents!

Having viewed one at a nursery, it is indeed VERY prickly, but to me in my personal environment, it's no trouble. R. eglanteria and the rugosas don't bother me either. Roses are the Briar Queen.
