Has it been tested for lead?

No. I was searching up how long paint is usually good for. The paint base that was used is very old. Our landlord keeps paint can for years and I offer to buy new ones and she denied me. Saying they are still good?! When a state inspection came to check our home the landlord came to our home and started covering thoses areas...we even have them on our doors!!

I'm moving out soon because I can't stand that lady! She is very cheap. I'm close to calling the state inspection on her! I just wanted to make sure if it was safe for my kids to be around my bedroom.

You can get the chips tested for lead, if you're concerned. But I'd also be concerned about damp in the walls, something has to be causing that to happen. It isn't normal.

It looks like a moisture problem with the wall. Is that concrete behind the paint? I assume this is an older house, and it probably has foundation problems. I'd have my air tested for mold. That can be dangerous. I got so sick from mold in my old apartment that I had to move.

Take a piece of paint and send it in to be tested for lead. And turn her into the health department!!!

I watched a show where a woman's child was picking up paint chips and eating them. The girl got very sick and died. She tried talking to the Landlord who wouldn't clean up the paint chips and wouldn't replace the paint. Let's just say after the child died, the law got involved and he was fined very heavily. And if I remember correctly, he was also jailed.

Move, no landlord should allow that in a house with kids (or anyone).
