Need living room advice!

I recently moved into a new apartment and can't decide the direction I want to take with my living room decor. a) all neutrals (whites, beige, taupe, silver, gold), b) neutrals with bright color accents, or c) neutrals with light pink/blush accents. Or something completely different!

So I found these curtains online, ordered one panel, loved it, so I ordered the other panels, and now I think t's too busy. It is a silvery/goldish jacquard design. I had hung my curtain rods for 96" panels, but then realized that 96" panels would be too short so I got 108" panels and they are way long. Should I leave them this length, move the rods up the 5-6" I can move them up, or hem the curtains?

I plan on getting a larger dresser/buffet for a tv stand so hopefully it will break up the 3 windows on the one wall. I also have two Victorian chairs I plan on reupholstering eventually to put on either side of the tv stand.

I need help in deciding accent color(s), a rug, wall art, and a fabric design/color for when I do my accent chairs.

The rug I have in the room pic is a 5'x7' that I just have down for now.

What do y'all think about this other rug I found online?

Any thoughts/help/advice is much appreciated!

Hem the curtains!

I like the rug you found online, has some great pops of color.

Looks like you could bring the rods up higher. If they're still too long, have them hemmed.

I prefer a neutral look in your room (with no "pop" of color). I could see a very pale blush pink used as accents (pillows, a throw, etc.). Is there any chance you could rotate your couch and move the tv to the small wall where the lamp is located?

Thanks, I was going to start with moving the rods up and go from there. I love the way pooled curtains look on a hard floor, but on carpet it just doesn't look right--at least in my case.

Is the fabric okay? Not too busy looking? I think the rug I have now is throwing me off so I think it all looks terrible at this point!

I originally wanted my couch on the opposite wall, but that's where the cable hook up is. And considering this is an apartment, I can't exactly move the plugs. :/ Also, the couch is too long to have facing that other wall.

i agree,,,hem them. I like them. I like the rug you picked as well. I would go for a glass table w/gold/or brass (not the 70's brass,,,the soft gold/brass color) legs. I supposed you could take the silver route if you prefer. Either metal will go. Or mix them. That's acceptable. If you get that rug, bring in a X ottoman, pillows, or pouf, or one of those ceramic garden stools, in one of those bright colors in that new rug.

If your large furniture pieces are a neutral color such as taupe, browns, black etc. including varying textures, your accents can be changed out easily in the future to a different color scheme.

A coffee table that is leggy & airy rather than a solid base would be ideal and show off your carpet. Consider a long oval. You could also do a trio of round matching tables.

Choosing a carpet with an all over pattern rather than a border is also a good thing for a sectional like yours. A cowhide would work too, with its irregular shape on top of your wall to wall carpet. It wouldn't need to be under the front furniture legs, it would be a statement piece under your coffee table.
