I like paintings better than shelves over the TV.

Also consider an artistic style clock.

The console is ok in black. Maybe paint it the color of the walls.

I like option one. I don't like stuff above the television.

Either option one or two, adding shelves above the TV looks crowded, go for a nice painting or a print if you don't want to splurge on a painting.

I like option 4 too, but I wonder if you could put some sort of window treatments up (sheers?) which would help soften the corner with the TV and then go with option 1 with a smaller picture. I also like the console painted.

You have a nice room to start with. I would definitely not go with the shelves above the TV. They will collect dust and clutter. Window treatments would really make the room look finished and polished. Start there!! Then one piece of art on each side of the window will do BUT keep them the right size. They should be much smaller than the options you added in Photoshop. Don't overwhelm the room. Let the ceiling detail be the wow.

None of the above. I think the problem is the furnishings layout. Why is all of this shoved in the corner?Why is your sectional, chairs and area rug not centered on your fireplace?

I like nothing over the TV, but I actually like the look of the paintings in the last photo in your room. So those or the second photo you posted.

So I have attempted to mock up some window treatment scenarios! What do you think?

I like the roman blinds, due to the beams and the stone fireplace, just seem to work better with those components.

I agree the sectional should be moved out of corner ic possible. To me the leather chairs are more like office chairs than living room chairs. What about replacing them with ine comfy upholstered swivel chair? I wouldnt do drapes in this room, seems to crowd it and take away from architectutal details. As for art Id do an abstract black and white painting or framed print. Beautiful room!

I also like the roman shades and thinks it helps warm up those walls. I don't think you need lots of art. One piece would be nice on the corner wall, but I would try to find original art opposed to a framed print that your can purchase on-line. It will add interest to your space. Shop around at consignment shops or local art shows. If you don't have resources for original art locally, check out etsy.com. They have artists that will create an original piece for you. Check it out :-) Good luck.

BTW, I think your room is quite nice and feels very cozy.

The only thing I worry about with Roman shades is how much of the view they block. The view from the other side of the living room is stunning and I'm scared to put anything on the windows to block it!

Wow, quite a view! I understand your dilemma about shades. With a view like that, I would not add any window treatments. Your casing around the windows is very nice, so it gives the windows a finished look. Just find yourself an original piece of art that works on that wall and enjoy your beautiful space and spectacular view!

The addition of some pillows with some texture or pattern might be nice as well.
