Orange paint enthusiasts...

Picking colors for our beach house dining room. The house itself is rather dark/not well lit + we love color on the walls so not afraid of the full orange experience. Husband likes BM Orange Burst (over BM Electric Orange and seemingly every other paint chip in the BM/SW/Valspar world) but our test foam board looks a bit muddy to me (even though the paint chip doesn't). Suggestions for similar shades without muddiness (maybe it's my foam board?)? Bonus points for SW as I prefer their paint (I know I can color match but still...). I'm thinking about getting some BM Calypso Orange for a swatch but very much open to other suggestions.

normally when someone comes up with something i normally don't work in much, I browzz houzz pics, orange seems simple but i had a hard time finding truly orange pics

there are not a lot more examples. so then i thought maybe wallpapers nowadays they are removable and much easier to work with. it was too difficult to look through. you can also go to spoonflower, all artist designed or they let you design your own. this would eliminate a lot of the painting, color is what it is.

If you are looking for orange, but really looking for ORANGE!!!! you need the shades that lean yellow versus red. It;s the red that muddies the color. Try BM festive orange, and remember to look at your color next to white trim. It;s the contrast that pops the shade as well.:

Just don't buy a can of orange paint from the discard section of Home Depot. It very well could look like velvet a cheese. Ask me how I know.

Ouch, jdforney. Well, it IS for the dining room -- maybe the Velveeta cheese call back wouldn't be out of place. ;-)

Just for a look, this is not orange, but everything is one color with the soft white trim, which maybe you have in cream wicker pieces.... for beach direction....

I love this and painted the inside of my front door this shade. BM Orange 2011-10 (no fancy name!). But it has a bright, reddish hue that reads happy rather than garish when it's on.

I, well my husband did the painting, did a small wall in my kids bathroom in orange. I will warn you, it took 7 coats to cover evenly. Orange is not a color that paints well!!

Just throwing out ideas - this room's trim is paint color I've seen on wicker. Other room is Persimmon BM.
