Would this area rug work with my furniture?

I purchased this rug for my living room and I'm thinking about custom ordering a sofa in the green fabric and an accent char in the ivory/green fabric. Would this area rug look well even though the chair's fabric is quite similar to the pattern in the rug? The colors are not great in the pic but in person they are very similar.

Yes it can. It can give a calm monochrome look to the room

I think the fabric for the chair could complement the area rug well.

I would rethink the combination. Your accent furniture is very modern. I like the solid; I like the Greek Key. I like the rug and the other fabric, but not for your room. Too traditional and...maybe a bit too formal?

How about a shag area rug, instead?

It could be the color doesn't come through on my iPad, but to me the rug looks more green. The fabrics are gorgeous together. I would prefer a rug that is one color, but has a design woven into it. Just an idea.
