Bought the house that we love --- everything except the living room, which is long with low ceiling and huge painted brick fireplace. We like "modern colonial" with clean lines, but how to translate it into reality not sure. We were thinking of painting the walls gray and possibly build a white fireplace mantel with clean lines.... Not sure how to embed a picture here, but for fireplace we like something like
