What a pretty flower! I normally hang out in houseplants but was looking for information on my lipstick vine. Now I fell down this rabbit hole. I think I love columneas!

I am very happy with this one. Here are some more recent photos of it. I obtained it as a single, small cutting back in May and now have bumped it up to a larger pot. I can hardly wait for the hummingbirds to discover it this summer. It's a very easy to grow gesneriad and like it's cousins, tends to bloom when it becomes pot bound.

Nice info, Irina. And yes I'd wait until late spring to order from NY, be it Lyndon Lyons or Violet Barn, or anywhere else up north. Risky in winter.
