Rugs & Runners in kitchen

Shopping for a runner for my mud room which lead to kitchen.
A rug in front of sink and dishwasher & one for under the dining table.
Approximate sizes for mud room ..3'/8'
Sink & Dishwasher.. 3'/5'...2'/6'. Either would work
Dining area.....6'/9'
If I find a runner & sink & DW size to match I can not find one for Dining area.
Do the 3 areas need to match, or would similarly like Colors work.
Any advice.

We have a runner in our kitchen (approx. 6' x 2'), a large rug in our adjacent dining area (10' x 10') and another rug (6' x 4') on the other side of the kitchen in another adjoining room. All rugs are visible at the same time. The first two are persian the last is from Oaxaca. The colors are not all the same, but if you mix different rug types, try to retain some of the same colors, otherwise you can have different colors without a problem (for instance, multiple persian rugs could be used but not be the same color or pattern).

Similar colors work fine - in fact, that would be my preference.

IMO rugs in a kitchen are just a tripping hazard and one more thing that needs to washed or cleaned. The rug in the mud room IMO can be anything washable or better yet a rug from Chilewich you can hose off . As for the dining room there is no dining table I can think of that would work with a 6 x 9 rug since you need a min. of 24” on each side of a table so probably 8 x 10 would be better

I would not put a rug under the dining table. Very hard to clean.

We have runners in our kitchen to keep our shepherd from sliding when she comes running down the stairs!! They are rubber backed and do well on our laminate floors. We also have rubber backed in our laundry/mud room.

They should be in the same color family but may not need to match exactly if they are not in close proximity.
