Fall blooms

I suppose it is fall now, poplars are definitely turning yellow. Cold one last night, but things are still hanging in there. Here are some photos from today as the day started to warm up.

I am trying a variety of petunias this year. Vista Bubblegum is still the best. Vista Silverberry is pretty good too, but the ones I have are definitely more sparse than Bubblegum. I have Vista Fuschia too (not pictured), and don't like it nearly as much, the colour is so-so.

Winnipeg Parks is putting on the third flush this year:

This Russian Sage did well, and I am getting some rebloom from the sea thrift and pinks in the background:

Gaillardia 'Goblin' just keeps blooming:

I like this woolly yellow yarow, it is much better behaved than the pink yarrow behind it:

Flax is on it's last legs, but still kicking out blooms:

Nice! I don't have pics, but the main things blooming right now are: goldenrod, echinacea purpurea, my Emily Carr rose, J.P. Connell rose, Prairie Joy rose and Morden Blush rose, bee balm, a few reblooming irises, May Night salvia, yarrow, a white salvia, liatris, garlic chives (white flower), Walker's Low catmint, and various large sedums. My 2 clematis, Princess Diana and Ville de Lyon are also currently reblooming.

Weeper, I had no idea irises could rebloom, thank you for the info. I will have to read more into it.

I love the large sedums! I just picked up Autumn Joy, and would love to add other varieties in the future.

Yes, most of my modern roses are in bloom right now, while other types are definitely shutting down. Winnipeg Parks, JP Connell, and Champlain are in full swing. Turbo is loaded with buds and simply won't stop growing! The ones that are definitely shutting down include Therese Bugnet, rosa Arkasana and Wasagaming.

Russian Sage can be a bit tender for me, but I love it. Do you know which cultivar you are growing? It is lovely.

'Vista Bubblegum' does have a very, very, faint scent, only noticeable if I bring it indoors. Unfortunately the Russian Sage didn't have the name of the cultivar on the tag. It did great this year, although it was an unusually mild winter, hopefully it comes back next year as it's been rather cold so far.
