you have such a small painting space that i dont think any color will cut the orange enough for you to notice.

All the walls in my kitchen are being painted. This is just a small pic of some of the painted portion.

You have enough wood that no paint is going to cut the yellow/orange. I have aged knotty pine trim throughout the whole house, living room ceiling and birch cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms. So far, my favorite color has been a "Pineapple Upside Down Cake" in the kitchen. I bought it at Home Depot and if I remember correctly, it is by Behr. I see it as a country yellow.

Gray

If light is no issue try chocolate brown

Your right the green doesn't work. How about a grey or grey brown. Also, I would add knobs and pulls to the cabinets.

The kind of green that will tone this down is a little different - pulling the brown in it up. It is a nicer neutral on the wall than in the swatch - try a sample.

I think you have lovely, classic cabinets in your kitchen. To complement the golden tones, a warm red would provide great impact.

I would paint the cabinets and add some hardware to the doors. Your cabinets would be uber easy to paint.
