Looks like a slug.

I love those caterpillars. Had them on my chokecherry once. Really cool how they eat a leaf and then use their body to make it look like they are the other half of the leaf.

Those are much cuter and less creepy than the bag worms I get in the spring on my wild black cherries.

i touched a caterpillar similar to that, and if i remember correctly it left a blister......

maybe dont use your hands?

After finding out what a wheel bug is after the fact, I am a lot more careful. I clipped the leaves and then used these little doll cloth pins to clip them to the new tree. ( took half of the caterpillars to make sure they like it) it worked very well. Thank you for mentioning this though. My daughter is always turning the leaves this way and that to take pictures.

Iris . I have the exact same caterpillars on some of my blueberry bushes. I'm also living in the upstate. I started to notice then a few weeks ago. They do keep coming back every day. New ones. Destroying the leaves. They hide real well in the leaf. Thanks for posting.

i am just glad there are so many smart and helpful people here. Usually if I search the Internet for caterpillar on a specific plant I get somewhere. In this case I looked at hundreds of images. Blueberry? Maybe I should check mine...

Oh I forgot to tell you, you have to look really good and close. They camouflage themselves perfectly into the leaf haha . It's amazing lol

Found this on my chokecherry tonight. Same genus as the unicorn caterpillar. Has an extra hump versus the unicorn.
