Wow! Stay safe!

About 4.5 inches in my rain gauge and I think it has finally stopped for now. Anxious to see what New on 6 says at 10. I think more is coming tomorrow. Oh no, this means more squash. LOL

Just what you need---more squash! So glad you got the rain though. You've been short on rain all year long so it is good you're finally getting some decent rainfall now. Hopefully whatever flooding is occurring won't be too damaging.

I'm not sure how much we have had so far, but it was splashing out of my five inch rain gauge when I emptied it this morning, and we are still having light rain.

Wow! We got about 3/4 of an inch. Screwed up my Cox service this morning. Right now the thermometer reads 76 with 89% humidity. They don't do heat indexes if temps are less than 80, but if the sum of temp and humidity is over 150 you're going to be miserable. When the clouds move out we're supposed to go up in the mid 90s again.

A friend in Bentonville got four inches in two hours yesterday, and I saw the video of the flooding at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville. Meanwhile in Adair Co about a dozen drops hit my windshield yesterday afternoon as I drove home from stilwell. We are still waiting and hoping because it is DRY here.

Sorry Dorothy. The Mesonet shows a bright yellow dot where the greatest rainfall occurred, but no real measurement because the Mesonet station is between Grove and Jay. When I went out last night in the rain to look at it the gauge had around 4.5 inches and I thought the rain was ending but I didn't empty it. This morning it was almost to the 5 inch mark and we were getting light rain which was causing it to splash out a little so I didn't get an exact reading, but it was hard rain for a long time, followed by light rain.

I had a few things growing in paper cups that were probably 1/2 of an inch tall and they were in trays with solid bottoms. Well, of course, they were trying to swim this morning. I salvaged what I could and just planted them although they were much too small. I just ripped the bottoms out of the paper cups and stuck them into a raised bed. I don't expect many of them to live but decided it was worth a try. We needed the rain so I am willing to sacrifice the tiny plants.

My weather radio gave an early warning for the Bentenville area, but the only time it went off for us was for a flash flood warning much later in the evening. I was surprised we didn't get an earlier warning because it was an extreme thunderstorm.

Hoping we get rain tonight. Don't need 5" but a couple of inches would be good. Next we need that cool off they are promising. I would have sworn it was July if I wasn't picking up my grandson from school. Crazy hot!!!!

Carol, you getting hammered again? These are some very large storms out tonight.

Bon, I think it will start any minute now, but so far it is happening just north of me. My granddaughter just got off work and I told her she had better hurry if she wanted to beat the storm. I have been hearing thunder since before midnight, so it is close.

We got another 3/4 of an inch last night.

We got 1.2" of rain in the early morning hours, and the weather remains cool and pleasant this morning. It almost felt like fall this morning, but I'm sure the cool, mild weather won't last nearly long enough. Still, a rainy morning is better than a hot, dry one. I hope that everyone who needed rain got some.

We got another 1.5 inches at our house. My deep wheelbarrow is totally full and running over from our two days of rainfall. Six and a half inches (at least) in two days is a little much. At least it was in a very small area of Oklahoma, but I hear Arkansas wasn't so lucky.

I got almost 1.5 inches. FINALLY! Rain has skipped us on a regular basis this summer. I had spread some alfalfa meal and fish emulsion around my passion vines in hopes the rain washing them in. My vines have been completely stripped by the gulf frits and more eggs are being laid every day! I'm hoping this will jump start some fresh foliage.

We got 0.4 inches. That was our first precip of any measureable kind since one day about July 10th or so. Believe it or not, the mesonet map showed our small area as the only place in the ENTIRE state to get less than 0.1 for the entire month of August.

Just North of Tahlequah we had about an inch of rain. I was working in the garden yesterday morning and realized that 7" down the soil was still powder dry. Still, it was a help.

I am out to water today as we've still had no rain. We did get a half inch the first of September and a half inch total for August, so we've had worse years--2012 and 13 for sure when we went 3 months with less than an inch. The cool weather is wonderful though. It was 49 degrees at 6:30 this morning.
