I would opt for an 80" wide console.

55" TV on 82" console.

A 100" wide console might crowd the curtains, so I'd choose 80". (If you didn't have the curtains, I'd suggest 100" to give a neat, tailored look to that wall by filling window to window.)

I love the console from RH. How long is it? Is it possible to remove the drapes and just have the blinds? I'm just mentioning that in case the console crowds them at both ends. Maybe you could eventually do some roman shades w/a simple pattern (or not) to dress up the window. the curtains aren't bad, but they seem to overwhelm the small windows and that space.

80+ inches is big enough to cover the outlet on left and leave room for your chair. Drapes and shades are too nice to remove drapes for a console size you don't really need IMHO.

I wouldn't put anything on the console unless you get the longer one.

Guideline: TV should be 2/3 length of console so should be 84" long. With the TV mounted on wall make sure the TV isn't mounted too high. I would get console first. It shouldn't be too much higher than 4-6" above top of console. These are guidelines so keep that it mind. Most people tend to put TVs too high and crane necks trying to watch. You should be comfortable viewing.

What about this one.., 90 inches wide. Would it b ok to put these candles on the console if it is 90 inches wide... Only 7 inches on each side to the curtains.

I think 90 would be kind of ideal. I am a little anal, ok a lot anal, on TV consoles, because they are typically designed so poorly, like designers didn't know you would want to put "CDs" up and down for max storage so they design drawers that you have to stack CDs in because they just don't quite fit. So, I hope you have done all your homework on sizing for the components etc. I am not familiar with the RH consoles and their wire management and air flows so components and TV "Boxes", such as TiVo's etc. don't overheat, etc. If you are confident on all those technical issues, including "wire management" then I think this is a good choice. The 90" also leaves you a bit more room for your chair on the left side if you still want that there.

This is interesting wall mounted console. Your space looks a little tight, so I just offer it as a possibility. Not sure about its technical details, just thinking of your space management.

Thanks for the advice!! I am attaching a couple older photos with an entertainment center that existed prior... Only to give u a feel of the space in this room.... Pardon the mess!!! The room I think is not as tight as you think! Let me know if u think the RH style would work after checking these images out!

My "rule of thumb" is that the console be 25% wider than the TV. That means another 29" added to the 58" for a total of 87" so that should be the minimum.

Yes, I think it will work and be better. The tall unit of previous one is so monolithic along with stone fireplace, way too much "weight" in room. I would check out customer reviews on RH on the unit you like. Those aren't perfect but can give you clues about pros and cons.

I would like to suggest you google BDI TV consoles. I have specified those for many people and I think they are some of the best designed units around. Excellent designs and great insights for customer use. Go look at RH Customer comments before you do anything. You have to decide what product features you want and make an informed choice. Good luck.

Here is one example of a bdi TV console that might work nicely for you. The pricing is roughly the same as the RH, but I assure you the equality is twice as good. Read on this page the info, or just look it up yourself. I'm not "gaining" anything by recommending these units, I just love their designs and quality for the price. Check it out.

this one has sliding by pass doors, with slotted wood for easy use of remotes. It has wheels that lock down, but when unlocked, you can move the unit out easily. It has movable shelves, plenty of space for sound bars, basically everything. It has removable back panel with wire management features that are excellent. They have many styles and designs to choose from and finishes from wood to white high gloss and black. Check them out. I think this unit is on sale for $2,000 roughly and I think the RH one was close to that? Anyway, just wanted to make you aware of these products because they don't advertise and are mostly known to the trade.

If you are mounting TV on wall that probably means you could go to less width on console.

The RH styles go best with room and your style. Nothing too modern with that great fireplace,beams etc.. 90” is perfect, 100 too long, 80 at a bit short but acceptable. Room for chair and not seem too crowded. If not a sound bar why bothering with expense, wall damage and trouble to mount? TV consoles are meant to be proper height for best viewing and design. Mounting for a bit higher has little purpose, mounting much higher and very uncomfortable viewing. Especially with such a big TV. I had a large tv enclosure with bookcases. Feels a bit empty at first because so used to it. But shortly you will feel it is much better and open without all the heavy furniture.
