Asclepias californica - Wanted

Like many others, I'd love to get some Asclepias Californica seeds. I have some other milkweeds seeds to trade, or I'd be happy to pay for the seeds (and certainly your postage).

I just started a milkweed garden this year, and just two weeks later had my first monarch visit. I had at least two monarchs hatch out a month later. For next year, I am planting more native varieties, and would really like to get a hold of the Californica one that seems difficult to find.

I have some of the butterfly weed, tropical (yes, I'll cut these back in the winter), and got seeds for showy, woolly, narrow leaf, heart leaf, and swamp.

Hi Daniel, at this time, I don't have any extra seeds. My plants are all new and not producing seeds, and the seeds I have I'm going to be planting in the spring. You can check on eBay, they have most types of seeds (but not A. Californica).

I did manage to get some seeds, and got one plant going. I am hoping to get more plants growing next spring. I did make a trip to the Mt Diablo area to find some seeds, but the pods there weren't opening yet. I grabbed one, and a week later the seeds came out looking good, a brown color and everything, but I'm not sure how those might grow, since the pod wasn't opening when I picked it.

When collecting milkweed pods that are not ripe you should cut the stem that is attached to the pod and place it in water then the pod will split open when ready. I would love a few California milkweed seeds if you have a few to spare. I only have 10 seeds. I would love to do a trade I have clasping milkweed, sandhill milkweed, Indian milkweed, hall's milkweed, broadleaf milkweed, heartleaf milkweed, woolly milkweed, purple milkweed, rush milkweed,white-stemmed milkweed,tropical milkweed, common milkweed,ice ballet milkweed, swamp milkweed, green antalope horns, western sand milkweed, prairie milkweed,butterfly weed,poke milkweed whorled milkweed,showy milkweed, and zizotes.

Hey guys....Brad Grimm at www.growmilkweedplants.com has A. Californica seeds for sale. (20 seeds for $8) I've bought seeds from him several times and they arrive always healthy looking.
