Emperor I: did I make a mistake?

I'm new to landscaping and have been working on a little project. I decided I wanted a Japanese maple, did some research and selected an Emperor I, which I thought would be around 12-15 feet tall at maturity. Then, after my purchase, I read another source that said 25ft. Eek!
I can put it somewhere else if it is gonna get that big, but I do need to know. What's right? Thanks!

It depends on your location and specific growing conditions, but Emperor 1 can reach dimensions similar to Bloodgood - in my climate, 30'x30'. And it grows a bit more rapidly than BG does as well.

I'm in East Tennessee, almost on the North Carolina line, and at 3,400 ft elevation. USDA hardiness zone says we are a "6a". Does that help?

I'd expect a mature size of 20-25' at least with an equal canopy spread. But it will take a couple of decades to achieve.
