I like 'Broome Sunset'. I was quite surprised how well this color combo worked in a mixed bed.

Lovely, and some I don't think I've seen before. I'm rather drawn to Insaniac, not a color/look I'm usually that attracted to, but I like it.

That first one is very fresh and pretty. With original help from irisgal though, I am quite certain that you have mis-named the middle picture that you called 'go lightly'. You are showing 'everything plus' which I try to keep an eye on for propagation. I had a poor year and I guess I need to add more bone meal. I hope I haven't lost them.

So many beardeds look so alike. Everything Plus has a slightly wider fall rim that I would guess is a bit deeper in color than Go Lightly's. And its beard is different in colors.

Chas, I've forgotten where you are but we have serious drought here. During our few rains, I caught extra water and dumped it on a dry corner where driveway meets street. The established iris there which had not bloomed for 3-4 ? years put forth bloom. So I'm thinking my poor bloom rate may have more to do with lack of zone9's "winter" rain than fertilizer (which I thought was the culprit). I hope both our irises do better this year!

@irisgal: I couldn't even find an actual 'go lightly' so I assumed that it was 'holly golightly' which appears to be a solid dusky blue. Is there really such a critter?

Re location & conditions: I am now in zone 7 Carolina in super clay which retains nutrients far better than my old Z9 northern CA aledged to be adobe, but has nothing to do with real clay like I have now. In CA our family had old iris that rocked along with little if any care. When I divided and added bone meal, I ended up with blooms all over. BTW, as you probably know, it doesn't rain from mid April thru mid Sept. At least now even though it might not rain for a month, the clay will hold some water for a couple weeks; and it will rain again; out there, who knows?

What a location change! Ugh. Clay. 3 miles south of me they have clay you could use for potting.
