Hi there. These cabinets have solid maple drawer/door fronts, which are stained to achieve this colour. Maple is a very hard and durable wood, however, all wood surfaces have the potential to scratch. Scratches will not happen easily on maple, but it all depends on your level of abuse. If scratches were to happen, it would be more evident on a dark stain finish, like this picture shows.
