Ok so I'm renting with three roommates, and we all have our own bathroom. My bathroom however, is located across the hall from my bedroom and directly off the living room area. It's got a cheap hollow door with about 1.5" space between it and the floor, so any and all noise escapes. I feel like I can't use it when there are visitors just in case any gross noise escapes. I can't get a new door, do any drilling and filling, or even change the light switch to turn the lights and the fan on at the same time. I'm off to buy a under-the-door draft stopper now, hoping that putting some foam and fabric under the door in the gap will help. What else can I do? I hate having to tell all my guests to turn on the fan switch too when they go to the bathroom and would really like for them just to be able to go in peace with no extra steps before they tinkle like turning on a radio or white noise machine. Any tips are welcome!
