Denise, it would depend on whether this is your main sink or a secondary sink in your kitchen.

A 5' island is not big enough to house a primary cleanup sink. Only a secondary prep sink. I find a 21" sink works well for that.

Your DW is 24" and will need at least an 1 1/2" side panel and filler, if you did a standard 33" sink in a standard 36" base. That only leaves you 16 1/2" which is less than the NKBA recommended landing zone beside the sink, and far less than you need for the continuous 42" of prep space adjacent to the sink that is needed. (30" of prep+ 12" of landing space for the sink, when combining functions)

Even if you shifted to a 25" sink, you would have insufficient room to perform prep and cleanup on the island.
