One of the many dwarf cultivars of Thuja occidentalis.

Thuja occidentalis = arborvitae, so you are correct. There is quite a range in size for these depending on cultivar, so put it somewhere that there is either no size restriction from walls, overhead wires, etc., or where you will be fine cutting it down if it gets too large.

looks like golden mop cypress, just not golden. I agree with thuja occidentalis.

'Golden Mop' is a Sawara cultivar and does not look like this.

I knew that golden mop wasn't in the same genus as the plant above. It just looks similar. Sorry for the confusion. It is definitely thuja occidentalis.

The plant in question looks nothing at all like Golden Mops or any other thread leaf chamaecyparis. When in doubt or when you have nothing relevant or accurate to say, just don't post anything.
