Grass Problem

last modified: 10 years ago

About 5 years ago we built a shed in our

back yard. Because the shed is on a slope, I built up an earthen ramp in to the shed.

Over the years I have tried many things to get grass to grow on the ramp. I have tried seed and fertilize. I have removed sod that was growing well in similar parts of the yard and placed it on the ramp and many other things. I still have a ramp that is quite bare. I have actually placed some Bermuda sod on the the ramp. As you can see the results of my efforts in the picture.

The shed is in the edge of a wooded area and is in the shade until early afternoon and then in the sun from then until late afternoon. The under side of the shed is open on all four sides. From the picture you can see the shed and the slope.

I go into the shed about once or twice a week and use the lawn tractor to mow the yard. When I remove the tractor from the sheds I have two planks about 4' long that I use to get the tractor into an out of the shed.

What would the experts on this forum recommend to get some sort of ground cover on the ramp.
