Black pots holding too much heat seems to be a concern I see pop up every so often, but I've never actually seen or read of proof that it's a real problem. Personally I grow all my Sarrs and VFT in black pots in Florida with no issue. The larger plant commercial growers in South and Southwest Florida do the same, as they're cheap and reusable with a variety of plants. So I don't think you need to worry about growing them in black pots at all in the first place.

That being said, if you just want different colored pots, as long as the spray you use adheres to the plastic, does not chip off as the plastic bends, is totally waterproof, and you let it dry completely before you use it, I don't see that being a problem either. You'd have to be careful which paint you chose that fits those descriptors though, but I've seen stuff on the market that claims to be flexible. Or just buy other colored pots?

You'll need a paint that's intended for use on plastic. DuPont's "Fusion" series does well.

Here's a tip: paint with two colors. Paint all over with one base color, like green. Then lay fern fronds or other leaves/stems'flowers on the surface as a reverse stencil and spray with another color. The end result is a fern-like paint job. My grand-daughter like the effect so much she wanted her bed/bookcase painted in this fashion.
