Granada never fails. I've had cut flowers from mine since February (zone 10a/20). It's fun to bring in the buds and watch them open indoors... Only drawback is, they don't drop their spent petals readily.

Love your blooms and humour,. Since 'We the North' don't have praying mantis- are they always so big?

Ingrida, around here, the praying mantis are a good three inches and that's about normal. They do freak me out when I'm gardening, but once I know where they are I give them their space because they usually stay in the same place for a few days. There are some that stay on hummingbird feeders for weeks! It's weird when they try to turn themselves red to match the feeder.

Something else I didn't realize, they try to be "Chamaeleons".

Thanks for the info. I'm the same with spiders, nice to know were they are....

Oh yes! You've got a beautiful selection. 'Bella di Todi' is to die for and I don't like yellow roses.

Judy, having enjoyed seeing your beautiful roses, I think you'd like Roberto Capucci, too. Gosh, those blooms are magnificent. My Calm Composure hasn't had very many blooms this first year, but maybe next year.

lovely roses Towandaaz.. I see you have a drip line in your potted roses.. how is that working out? I was considering doing the same but I tend to move my potted roses around the patio a lot. Thanks for sharing :)

Hi Haku, the drip line works well for when I'm out of town. I've got a 3/4 in. main line on a separate valve that I run 1/4 line off of to reach approx. 5-6 pots in each grouping in my nursery/garden area. Like you, I also move my pots around. I like hand watering since it gives me a chance to look at each bush and monitor the conditions. So, I disconnected that drip line at the timer when I'm here and reconnect it when I need to making sure each pot gets water - it's strictly utilitarian. I'm not sure what your patio set up is like, but I think if you can install drip lines at "stations" or areas that you tend to group or put pots, you can remove the line to move a pot and hide the line. I have a patio that has drip lines to these kind of "stations" where pots are grouped on the edges of the patio. I interchange roses and other annuals in these groups. Drip lines are really a time saver and you would probably enjoy having them.
