Mine have started growing red-tinged leaves after I placed then under grow lights. Does anyone know what's causing this?

Carol it's totally normal for the leaves to color up under the grow lights. I've noticed this with LED's and also with florescent bulbs. It doesn't hurt the plants. When they got back into regular sun their new leaves will come in normally.

I agree with Tracy. Even fluorescent bulbs sometimes do this to adenium leaves. They're just not as good at light distribution at close distances as, well, the sun at 8 light-minutes away. Heh.

They can stay gang-planted until spring, Carol, but watering can be an issue--you might lose patience having to do it daily towards March. By January you'll also need to start fertilizing lightly. I have similarly-aged seedlings that I plan to keep this way too. The only serious downside is that when you separate them in spring, they'll be very very tangled. Everything else is just management.

If your seedlings are unusually vigorous you might have to separate them before spring and then you'll need to heat them up so they don't suffer too much after being repotted. Seedlings this young need a lot of warmth.

I will be leaving four trays of seedlings planted together over the winter as well. Three of them are obesum, and I will be trimming their tap roots off. The other tray is somalense, and I leave their taps. My trays are only about 2" deep, but I think they will be fine.

My plants are still trying to recover from this LED light burning them.

My seeds were sown on 18/11/2016 .

Its cold now so mine are just surviving... out on vacation, I asked a friend to water them when I was out has turned horrible bad for them....caterpillars have eaten away most trunks....some are now just sitting there tops eaten away, all have no leaves, most have all dried leaves and the tnder tops all gone:(.. only two are suddenly sprouting a lot of branches from each leaf node...:( not happy.....lets see how and what survives till March

Mine are so unhappy. More leaves are turning yellow and two have keeled over. Meanwhile my three personal crossed seeds are chugging along happily and have already outgrown the Ko seeds. I'm tempted to just toss the Ko seedlings outside into the greenhouse for natural sun but I know this means I'll forget and accidentally let them sit out there overnight in temps as low as the 40's but I don't know what else to do except hope I have at least a couple still alive when spring finally rolls around.

I added a picture of my kids to the lens mob 4 month album. I have a greenhouse with a heater but only natural light. Some rippled leaves but still holding up (will have to see if it's a feature or a nutrient issue). One branched early and one is variegated so that's kinda cool. Just hope they keep plugging along. I wish everyone else the best!

Mine are doing pretty good under the lights. I put them outside last night to treat with neem oil since a few other plants looked like they had mites. Luckily, temps here range from 60-75degF right now, and they're getting a bit of fresh rain water today.

They are getting a bit crowded, so I might have to repot soon...

I just posted 6 month pictures. I still have 11 that germinated and survived out of 15 seeds that I received from Mr. Ko. I do have a bit of a mite infestation, but we're dealing with that using a neem oil/Castile soap solution.

Is there such a thing as too many branches?

Wow! I'm gonna say no, because you can always cut the undesired ones off later. You're definitely doing something right! Congrats!

7.5 month update. All is well. Still have eleven plants alive. We have a few branching, but are dealing with a few with root Mealies. Hopefully, the outside air will help with that.

I suppose I should chime in with my results. All of mine died, sadly. By the time spring rolled around and I could put them outside, I was down to 7. I was hoping actual sun instead of led grow lights would revive them but they continued to die off one by one. When I had three left, I figured I'd repot them in fresh coconut coir/perlite in hopes of perking them up. Two more died, leaving the last one to linger forever before it gave up the fight. I don't know why but mine never left that tiny seedling stage.

If you lived in Australia I could give you some pinks to make you feel better sorry about the bad news

Congratulations Lyka! Very beautiful flower, pls take another pic when it's fully open :) ! All six of my plants alive but kinda small for their age, just replanted them in grittier mix and to be honest, I'm just happy they're made it that far, lol. All the best to you!

Mine got mixed up with my other seedlings, but I can report that my remaining eleven are still alive and thriving. I have some buds, but I think that they're from my July 2016 seeds. I'll post pics if I suspect that any are from this batch of seeds.

Beautiful, Lyka! Nice job and much larger than my seedlings I germinated around the same time. But then you are in HI where you can grow more year round and all of my late summer seedlings from last year went dormant for a number of months over winter. They all look great now but are not large enough for me to expect to see any flower buds before the end of this summer, or next spring.

Good luck to ALL OF YOU who still have Mr. KO seedlings from this cross still going! Please keep posting updates when you can. ;)

Is it time for another community grow out?

Next spring would be better for a new community grow out. Starting at the end of summer is harder for people to get decent growth going before they have to bring things in for the winter, IMO. But up to you all what you want to do. I'm not ordering anymore seed before next season.

We have started August-October. I would be willing to join if we do something exotic. I would prefer arabicum probably.

Yes, did start at the end of summer last year but that'll count me out this year. You all have fun with it. I already have all the new seed germinated I'm doing this year. ;)

My first batch of grow-out plants all died. My second batch are all mixed up with other seeds but surviving the Melbourne winter. I'm keen to try again. Sorry pic isnt great.

Oh no, I'm sorry about your first batch not making it Dianne. What do you think happened to them?

Planted too early in our season (middle of winter) and then I was away on holiday for 6 weeks and they were left with a friend. Second batch was planted middle - late spring and are still hanging on 9 months later. :-)

So for all 2016 growout, Mr Kos seeds have all given me till date pinks and a few double pinks no single red even... though quite a few yet to grow, but I was more happier with Rinoa...just my experience, need not be true for all.. its just a sample of 30..40 seeds

Shimolee, I agree. This has also been my experience. In fact, I have had KO seed batches that dd not germinate at all. Rinoa appears to be producing more stable hybridized seeds. This has been my best example to date ... really impressive:
