It was definitely drawn by an architect. If you're looking for plans of this nature you should consult with a few architects. And, it doesn't hurt to talk with several. Try websites like localarchitect.co and many places of that sort. Because the worst thing to do is order plans online. That route doesn't take into consideration that by law a local architect must complete, sign and seal the construction documents. So it makes you have to pay twice.

We actually started with a plan from a local design catalogue and had a drafting company alter the plan to suit our client. The building was 26' x 30' and the upstairs was approximately half the size due to the open cathedral ceiling. The outdoor living spaces were essential for this lakeside cottage.

I am in no hurry as I just put in my offer on the property, but would like to know approximately what each of you do and approximate expenses. Actually, 26' is the max on depth but it is a longish lot so could be expanded that way. I love the idea of one company preparing plans and another creating am3D of it for me to play with.
