All I can say is WOW those are some pretty roses! Your Holly Bells is so delicate and pretty. And Carol Bouqet is gorgeous, I love pink roses but especially the soft pink ones.

Boncrow - thank you!!! :) Thanks for loving my Holly Bells!! I still can't believe I have such a pretty rose of my own!!! I'm glad you like Carole Bouquet - it's a worthwhile rose to grow. I think it will be stellar next year. There are about 10 more roses in a candelabra at the top of the rose.

Sara-Ann - Thank you!!! Carole Bouquet is a tall rose. I grow it in zone 3's cool summers (overwintered in garage) and in a pot - yet it's 4 feet at least. So in the ground and where you are it would probably be much taller. It has a strong perfume smell. I can't say anything about health, because roses here don't suffer from disease. The flowers last a long time on the bush. This year (3 rd year) Buxom Beauty is finally looking beautiful. Before this year it has been barfo - barely blooming and the blooms looked terrible. Now I am in constant awe over the flowers. They are mesmerizing, and the fragrance is strong perfume. Wowza!!

Irisgal - Holly Bells is a rose I "created" with the help of the bees. :) So, nope, there is no other name. LOL I'm hoping it becomes a stellar rose like it's seed parent, John Davis. I named it after my daughter, Holly whom I used to call Holly Bells. :) And yes, I really like Carole Bouquet. It's still relatively new, but it's gotten so good. I'll post more pictures when a candelabra bursts open soon. It's the tallest rose in my garden at 4 feet. Not bad for growing in a pot. I love the fragrance too!

Kentucky_rose - Thanks! Yes, the blooms can get pretty big here with our cooler weather. The temps have been around 22C (71 F). The weather has been about that temperature all summer. We don't get really hot here. Bout the hottest it gets here is 78-80 F. The temps for the next two weeks are about 14 C (57 F).

I'm a little nutty about soft pinks, too. I took a look over at HMF at Carole Bouquet as well. What a lovely rose. My Neil Diamond has been sulking, too - only three or four blooms all season for me. The few that were produced have been perfect though. Carol, beautiful photography.

Carol do you mind telling me plz where did you buy Carole Bouquet from? is it a good bloomer? Whats the size of blooms average?thanks, Elvi))

I don't remember where I got it from. But it was either Hortico, Pickering or Palantine. Yes, It is a really good bloomer. The fragrance is really nice and the bloom size is large - maybe 5 inches. The blooms last a long time...but it's cool here. Right now mine is growing in a pot yet managed to reach over 4 feet from the rose's base. So there are about 15 buds, but they're above my head. That never happens here. So it's a tall plant. It also has buds lower down. It's relatively new, so I can't say I love it like I love Grande Dame. But, it's a solid 4 out of 5 for me.

Carol, my ND looked like a more mature bush than I usually get since I previously have purchased mostly own-root bands or gallons. Purchasing a rose in a 5-gal pot from a local nursery that already looks like a bush was a real eye-opener. This ND does have a strong fragrance. Maybe next year it will produce more blooms as it settles in.

Yes, you're probably right. More blooms and a strong fragrance will be great!!
