Hello!
I hope I'm posting the right section. :)
A good 2 weeks ago, I bought a small pilea cutting - it had about 7 leaves. They advised to water it a small amount weekly, which I did. Despite that, I'm almost pretty sure I still overwatered it. The leaves started to get brown spots. That's when I started to do some research. I read that pilea propagation often happens by putting the cutting directly into soil rather than root it in water first. So while I was checking for root rot due to my overwatering, I discovered the cutting only had a couple of tiny tiny roots. No wonder I still gave it too much water. I made sure everything was dry and put it back into the soil as it still had two healthy leaves. These have started to get brown spots as of yesterday.
Is there a way to still save this cutting? Should I put it into water to make sure it gets better/longer roots or keep it in soil? Or is it root rot after all?
I tried to take a photo of the roots.
Thank you so much for your time! I know what I did wrong, which is a good lesson, but I feel so bad for possibly losing this cutting.
