Ok you need to share some of your growing secrets with us. First the large Best Seller and now going from seed to bloom in less then 2 years..come on share:)

Once I was horticulture student at NCSU, but I don't have any special secrets. I grow most of my Hippeastrum in a mix of leaf compost, perlite, and sand. As far as fertilizer goes, I don't have a set regimen or mix. I usually use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. I encourage blooms by cutting all water off and allowing the leaves to die back. When I start to water a month or two later, they bloom. The 'Red Garden' selection (From Brent and Becky's) probably bloomed in less than two years because it is a mini; I expect is closely related to H. striatum or some other aggressively offsetting species.
