Leathered granite care

Hi! We just purchased a leathered granite for our kitchen remodel. It is a light colored stone (similar to colonial white.) Do I need to be concerned about staining? The fabricator will seal it, but I know some stones stain regardless. Thanks so much!

Hi, sorry for the late response, but you should be fine. Most granite is really hard to stain, even when unsealed. If you start to see water rings staying in your stone, then it's time to seal again. If you are worried about it, you can always seal 2-3 times a year. It's easy to do on your own. At the minimum, you should seal once a year. More on care and feeding for granite here: http://granitegrannies.com/how-to-clean-maintain-repair-granite-countertops/
