Marble seams - really disappointed

I just had to unexpectedly have our master bathroom redone. We just moved into this house - a 1926 Spanish that had just been restored. Unfortunately, the master bath was poorly done, so we had to take it down to the studs, repair joists and plumbing and then put it all back together. After all of this work, including fantastic tiling, the Carrara marble tub surround was installed. When the installers left, I noticed these big white seams where the marble pieces were joined. The Carrara marble in our kitchen has almost invisible seams, so this was a big shock. I've asked the installers to remediate, and they're trying to make excuses. But when I show them the job in the kitchen, it shuts them up. I think this is inexcusable - am I wrong? Shouldn't the pieces have been pushed closer together and shouldn't they have used the correct color epoxy? The center piece of marble at the head of the tub isn't even flush with the side pieces - it sticks out a bit.
