That is a beauty, Mike. I did not know you had a cutting growing. I have 3 Dekopan and a Prague (thanks Laura) cutting that I started 2 - 3 months ago that are still alive but show no signs of growth.

That's great Vladimir! I don't really need more trees, so I have not bothered with cuttings. I am a bit worried about the key lime seedlings...three so far...I think another two may still sprout.

Fantastic Mikey . That's an incredible amount of growth in one year . I love making cuttings this is usually my winter project.

I only have one anemic and sad little cutting of a variegated pink lemon at the moment. But I just fertilized, so I'm hoping for some Autumn growth.

It just so happens that I am trying to root an Oro Blanco cutting and here it is after 6 weeks, just a little green stick..It's funny how some things will root really well and some not under the same exact conditions..Heck, I have a 'Poison Arrow Tree' cutting that I have been trying to root for 2 years!! I am using the rosary beads now as I stand over it for any signs of new growth...............Will take a pic of my Calamondin in a day or two)

I have 5 New Zealand lemonade cutting in rooting cups. Hopefully the buds will swell to a good size. I plan to use the swelled buds for grafting in about 1.5 months wen I get the light box set up.

I'll get an update pic on the currently rooting cutting...it's a weak thing, and it's taken a year to root!

Here's a variegated pink Eureka lemon cutting. It's the second cutting I've managed to root from my motherplant.

I cut it in September, 2015, and I left it outside under an Alhambra jug all Winter. It lost its leaves, bloomed, then didn't put out a leaf until late Summer.

Josh, lol. Don't laugh, but I am still trying to root a plant from two years ago!! lol

I threw mine out after 8 months. Maybe I should have kept it. I am glad to hear you two stuck with it until it rooted

Steve, the first cutting that I rooted took 9 months. This one took about a year. I'm just glad that they finally rooted....

Mike, it's amazing that the cutting is still viable. I might consider unpotting it and checking the condition of the potting mix and the cutting.

Well I just checked on mine and I am running about a 50% success rate which I guess is pretty good!

Oro blanco cutting: huge mass of root nodes at the base of cutting, but no roots at all and we are just about to start month 4 since potting it. Should I keep going?

Meyer cuttings (2): one zero progress, one has roots! Yay!

Bearss lime cutting: success- roots!

thornless key lime: small amount of roots! I broke some off opening up the root ball to check, hopefully it recovers.

finger lime: fail, no roots, still a stick

Funny there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it... some of the freshest cuttings failed and some of the biggest ones on old wood took. at 50% success rate with minimal work involved I would say taking cuttings are worth it.

Should I switch them to 511 at some point? They are still in quite wet, boggy potting soil on a heat mat.

Also my flying dragon suckers have done nothing unfortunately, will be composting them.
