Did I miss a total shot of 'the pig'?

Here it is. My one daughter has always loved birds and the other has always loved pigs. So I have a lot of pigs and birds in the garden. :)

Ann - Well, so far it's a 0. But it's a brand new rose and a lot of my roses don't get fragrance until the 3rd or 4th year. So you can't go by what my roses do. :) HMF rates it as Excellent fragrance. So here's hoping! :)

I'd love to show something if I had it. : ( I'm still trying to find a birdbath I like! I guess my garden is new this year and so far I've been focusing on plants. What I really want is a gazing ball. We used to have a huge plastic owl that was supposed to scare the gophers, but it didn't work, so it's in the garage now. ALL your flowers are gorgeous.

vaporvac - Thank you!!! Yes, new gardens (well all gardens I`ve ever had) are expensive...it seems we never stop spending money on them. Again - at least I don`t. :) A gazing ball - do you mean like this:

This was when my garden was very young. The gazing ball (if that`s what it is) came with the house when we bought it.

I love all your garden art !! I love the rooster , and the gekko is so cute and the pig ! And great use of the decorative bird cage. I'm a fan of little things in the garden as well . I just picked up this wagon wheel at the flea market .

This fella came from the Philadelphia flower show . I had to walk about ten blocks with him but he was so worth it !

Carol, it is 2 pictures above the dragonfly...and it still makes me smile!

Kentucky - Oh!! That's a chameleon!! We used to have about 3 different types of chams and also leopard geckos. So I had to buy the chameleon!! And it's made of wires, so the legs can be bent into position and hold on to things. It's really cool!!!

Ok, rosecanadian. I did NOT just buy this because of this post, but thought 'How serendipitous!', come to think of it. I've been wanting a bird bath, but I don't like most of those I see and they're very expensive. A friend texted me this pic this morning and I rushed over and bought it. It's actually in quite good shape and is very heavy,so it's still in my car until I have help. :( I found a tag on the bottom that says 'butterflies are free' Campania cast stone. Best of all, I like that it looks old and was only $20! Yipee!

Still not uploading. Urghhh! My friend too the photo and I think the file is too big and keeps knocking out my router, somehow. I may have to keep you in suspense until I get my own pic, unless I can use another computer.

The blue birdbaths I got were $30 each. Which I don't think is too much for something that lasts and lasts. But, twenty dollars is even better! Can't wait to see the picture!! Way to go!!!

Thank you, Carol. I'm pleased as punch! However, since I thought I would never find a BB I both liked and could afford, I planted a tomato in the exact spot it needs to go! I may try to post a pic this week of it in its temporary spot in the same bed. It's the perfect accent. If only it would stop raining.

I also mentioned to the same friend that spotted this, that I'm in the market for a gazing ball, and lo and behold, he has one he's just storing in his garage. Yippee again. I already have a 1930s stand for it. Unfortunately, its spot will be in my "potager" aka vegetable garden and it will probably be a while before that's up and running. I'm currently planting my veggies with my roses. :)

Here's its temporary home. I tried to get a good pic, but the Mirabilis wasn't cooperating. But the time it opens, it's too dark to get a good pic. :(

That's really gorgeous!!!! I want one!!! If it were I, I would paint the butterflies...but I love color. However if you leave it as is - it looks very romantic and elegant. It truly is elegant. What a treat!

lillyfinch, I'm just now noticing your pics as distinct from Carol's! I love every one of them, especially the wagon wheel. My friend who spied the BBath for me used his as the outline of plantings. I did look kind of cute, but I thought it was sad to put it on the ground to disintegrate. He said they're a dime a dozen out his way, so maybe I'll give him a new quest. (He loves to go junking!) ;) The roses look fantastic growing around it.

rosecanadian, You've completely Id'ed why my garden will probably never be cute or charming: I really want that romantic ideal. : ( However, this post has got me thinking how to incorporate a little bit of quirky. I guess it's because my house is old and I kind of let the original hardscape and plantings determine the feel. I guess it's what one could call (crumbling) classicism. (That's what I tell myself to keep from getting depressed.) :) If I ever do build a little greenhouse out of old windows, I think I'll have that be a place where I can have "cute" stuff!

Oh, and you do have a gazing ball! They were popular in Victorian gardens and especially through the 40s. The old ones were on stands like those for BBaths. My Grammy's neighbor had one that fascinated me as child. That woman's garden was amazing and really imprinted as my ideal. It had a wooden arbor and everything. Woe to you, however, if you even picked a daisy! Whew! We were always in trouble with her.

Curdle - awww...thanks!! I love how I can put different flowers in the frog and get different looks every year.

Vaporvac - Romantic is wonderful...I would never be able to create that look...it's not in me to do that. :) But I do quirky and cute quite well. :) So glad we don't all have the same look...how boring! :)
