This is the
first time we buy a manufactured home. We don’t need anything fancy, just
reasonably durable and easy to maintain.

I’ve been
reading MH forums; some suggest a well-built home need :

2x6 exterior
walls,

2x8 or 2x10 floor
joist,

2x4 internal
wall,

OSB wrapped,

2x construction,
low energy thermopane window.

We’ve
briefly talked to a salesperson, he emailed us a quote/confirmation sheet listing
some standard and upgrade options without any structure information.

To get those
info what document should I ask for? Maybe
Owner’s Manual & Warranty?

There is a $200 HUD Label Fees. According to HUD.GOV: "The label numbers can be found on a data plate inside the home in one of three locations: on or near the main electrical panel, in a kitchen cabinet, in a bedroom closet. " Is the $200 for this data plate? If I don't pay for the plate and request a Letter of Label Verification from IBTS, will it be less expensive?

It dawned on me that I could ask IBTS about the fee for the verification letter. Will definitely give them a call tomorrow.

Are you looking to place the home in a park or on your own land?

My own land. We are approaching retirement age with a meager income, thinking about putting 2 MHs on our property for rent. We live in a rural area in Texas. Of course we need to take out a loan to do this.
