It's growing in the side yard on a lattice trellis and has climbed into into a Kidney wood tree reaching for more sun ...

Every plant has a story. I bought it many years ago Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham for $25.00, which is the most I had ever paid for a plant. It never bloomed so I gave up on it, dug it out and gave it away. Three years later it came back from a piece of root. I'm glad it gave me another chance ...

It doesn't give me a solid mass of blooms like those in Houston do, but I appreciate it anyway. The foliage is always beautiful as nothing bothers it and it needs very little irrigation to stay looking fresh although I'm sure the extra rain this year has led to an increase in flowering ...

It's very fragrant and has conveniently placed its flowers overhanging the walk where I can sniff them. I always cut a few to bring into the house to enjoy ...

Further down the walk to the gate a cardinal poses as if on purpose to pick up the color ...

It's beautiful.

I've had one in a pot for several years now that has never bloomed.

I grew it from seeds

A plant grown from seeds always holds a special place in our hearts. I hope it eventually produces some flowers for you.

It's absolutely beautiful, Rosalee. I've not heard of or seen them before! Bet they draw hummers. Don't you just love going to the Antique Rose Emporium? I haven't been there since I lived down on the coast 13 years ago.

Not this year :( . Having bloomed last year for 2 months you may think that it would had been even better this year with all the water we have got.... Nope.

They are gorgeous this time of year. I love the way the Cardinal posed for you. I remember Omar's photos from last year... so abundant, too. We have them in our yard, too, but they are interspersed with pink Mandevilla throughout. They kinda blend well together.

They bloomed and smelled gorgeous during the 90's in my in town old house( rich ground, lots of water). I think they liked those warm winters and wet rainy years unlike what we have had until these last two years. They did not live long out here.

Jim's vine is the one I was thinking of when I said mine wasn't blooming as much as the ones in Houston.

What a wonderful vine. It and Coral vine are my favorites.

Looking good! Hi Jim! Long time no see. I won a double rangoon creeper at the fall Livingston swap and can`t wait to see it next spring in bloom. I have it in a pot right now and once it gets going I will root it and share.

I love rangoon creeper! Thanks for posting. We had such a mild winter last year that mine did not even experience frosted leaves. It's put on quite a show this year. Several years ago I saw a double bloom form in Florida that was stunning. If anyone knows of a source for the double bloom form- please tell!

It sounds like Beach plant has one but she is a long way away from Dallas. I am sure the guys in SA will be waiting with bated breath.
