After several years of using different cork products I should add some clarification. Cork products come in two basic types. One type is a thin veneer of a cork pattern adhered to a standard cork substrate. The others are monolithic, as in, there is no veneer. The pattern is solid all the way through. The monolithic is much more lasting and resistant to water. I would shy away from using the veneer type if you want it to look great in 10 or 20 years. In fact the thick products can be sanded and refinished, like a wood floor. But both of them, waterproof? No. Water-resistant, yes.

Much like a hardwood floor. My kitchen has a monolithic cork floor, and when you spill water on it, it does bead up nicely. With Expanko I recommend the Prestige or Heirloom lines. More recently we've been using Capri Collections - Mediterra. Expanko discontinued much of their product line and some of our favorite colors and patterns. I hope this helps!

Not at all. An occasional light mop with mild soap is all that is needed. No wax or anything like that.
