Finger Pulls - Drawer won't close completely

How do you install finger pulls so that they don't push the drawers "out"? My top vanity drawer won't close all the way, since the back of the pull is hitting a brace that's at the top of the vanity. Use drawer bumpers?

I have had finger pulls in my last two kitchens- IKEA so all Mdf. All doors and drawers get bumpers and get adjusted so the reveals are the same.

The drawers should be routed out to accept them. Similar to how door hinges are mounted.

The proper way is to rebate the door so the pull is flush, need to be a good carpenter to do this correctly. Other option is to use bumpers if your cabinetry is an overlay type.

Thank you again - if the vanity drawer is particle board is that an issue?

No, the pull completely conceals the particle board substrate. As mentioned this takes some skill as you must be very accurate to get the a perfect fit and it is very easy to split the veneer with one small slip.

so is it being cut into at the top? or on the back (inner) side of the drawer?

In the ideal situation the door would be rebated on the top and back. However, you only really need to do it where it will resolve your problem. Hopefully that is the top edge of the door which is easier to do.
