Sun Valley Maple with big bend

I have a Sun Valley maple that has a big bend in it near the roots. I assume this is from when it was graphed ? Can this tree straighten out ? I didn't notice this when I purchased it due to the cover the big box stores put on the trees and I didn't know to look due to being new to planting trees. Other than this the tree looks great.

Over time, that bend will become unnoticeable, as the trunk gains in girth! And you really can't do anything about it anyway :-)

Just make sure the root flare is showing, pull any mulch away from the trunk (3-4 inches) and water deeply as necessary. If provided good growing conditions and care, the tree will take off and the bend will pretty much disappear.

And yes, that probably is the result of grafting - NBD.
