Hi, are you using tap water, if so is it municipal (or treated ) water, the chemicals in such water can cause problems. I'm not sure what is going on with your plant. When was the water changed last? You could trim off the dead leaf parts, but don't cut into the living tissue, cut just to the edge of the dead.

If the water is clean and the roots look healthy, you might try mixing up a quart water bottle with a liquid fertilizer- read the directions then use half or a quarter of what they say to use. water with that once and observe the results- most of the year I use only water on mine. Whatever you do, updates are always appreciated!

Thanks!! I think my family was probably watering it with tap water while I was gone, so that's probably it. I'm planning on repotting some of my other plants sometime this weekend or next week, so I can clean out the container then and check out the roots. Are there any signs that I should be looking out for with the roots as far as health goes? Also, any recommendations for the fertilizer? Thanks again!

Thanks, I'll check it out! I cleaned out the container today, the roots look fine but the water was definitely not clear, oops. There was a bit of algae growing on the rocks, which was pretty hard to get out. I did my best though, so hopefully it'll be better now. Just wondering, about how often should the container be cleaned? I'd prefer it not to grow algae anymore if I can help it.

to stop the algae you just need to block light to the water, like using a decorative pot to place the whole water container inside : no light no algae

It's growing a new leaf, so I would say it's doing alright? I think so. I was actually about to start a new thread about it because I noticed some things while I was repotting it that I'm not sure if I should be worried about. The opaque pot definitely stopped the algae though, so thanks for that tip!
