You just described exactly what a progressive dinner is, what more do you need to know?

I've organized progressive dinners for 75-100, for a ladies auxiliary I belong to.
Lots of planning, but lots of fun. It's a good way for couples to meet.
We make sure at every course you are seated with different couples.
We usually have between 8-12 per house, depending on how many the hostess can seat.
First you need volunteers to be hostesses.
Then choose a caterer, or plan what you want to serve for each course, if you are cooking yourself.
Usually the hostesses provide drinks, coffee and tea, set a pretty table with centerpiece.
We supply the food and wine.
Food is delivered to a central location by caterer for pickup before the party.
Usually charge $75-100 pp.
We all start off for drinks and appetizers at one home. There the couples get their itinerary with a map.
Then on to salad at one house, next main course and dessert.
We used to get together for dessert, but by the end of a night of drinking, many couples fell off and went home.
It's good to have a d.d. or better yet take Uber :)

I agree, an issue these days is drink driving. Still, progressive dinners are fun.

I guess my question is has anyone ever set one of these up? I was thinking in the neighborhood so there would be no driving, just walking.
