For formal meals it was designed for one to sit at that end of the table another at the opposing end or two grand kids. In general the table is placed further away from the bench so two can sit casually and place coffee on the end of the dining table. This is a 450sq ft unit for a couple who visits the area occasionally. every space holds multiple functions. If necessary the table can accommodate a crowd!
