Repurposing A Dining Room Set

I have a high quality wood dining room set with beautiful lines.. We are remodeling our entire first floor and would like to change the color of the set from blonde/pickled to a dark coffee/espresso. Can it be done so it will look amazing?

I asked this question once, of my cousin, who does this kind of thing. He told me it would probably cost more to refinish than it would to replace it with something new and because of the wood type, it mightn't turn out how I hoped. Get a professional opinion and see if its worthwhile.

There are people who can do a faux espresso that looks very real, but it would need to be sealed very well. I would look around to faux finish painters.

Have you ever considered restaining it if you can find professional will be the best as you said it's a high quality dining room other wise check u tube or DIY on the process to stain wood. Good luck

I would find out about having it professionally refinished. I'd look for a wood furniture restoration/repair company. And get a lot of references.

dooders, my fingers are crossed for you. If you really love the piece I hope someone can do it for a reasonable cost.

I don't mind DIY at all - but I'm not willing to try DIY on something that I'm afraid to ruin. It sounds like you really love this set so I'm hoping you're able to get it to look exactly the way you want.
