We did this once but grease got all over the granite and it constantly had that dirty feel. Mixed with the dirt that blew o from not using it all the time, this was just a mess, but it looks really nice!

The BBQ is a 42 inch grill and I cook everything on it. Really no grease splatter on granite (perhaps because grill is large enough?). The kitchen has a custom cover made out of the Sunbrella material used in patio umbrellas when not in use.
