Retaining wall?

Did you need to beef up the pool shell on the side with the exposed pool wall? Usually the dirt in the ground supports it. Was that very costly? How much thicker is the pool wall on that side?

Since most of the pool shell was underground, the structural requirements weren't much more significant. I think the shell wall is 12" thick before the stone veneer.
