I would look for a very light neutral cream or taupe. Try a color that looks like your floor.

Depends on what type of color you are buying for the Appliances is it going to Stainless Steel or White, in which also you should do a backslash that is mosaic so it looks nice with the applicanes and as for the paint chipping you, where is it chipping the soffit or the actual cabinets

Thank you all! I think it is soffit. The cabinet color under the soffit is an off white beige color. And yes we are going with stainless steel appliances.

lbaguidy Then the Best thing would be to do is chip and paint the soffit any color you like, and put new appliances and do a mosaic backslash because the white wall above the counter-tops doesn't look awesome, but we could look @ different options to better fit your budget. so it is budget friendly and beautiful

I do like the light cabinet color so I may go with a white or beige. However I am unsure of what backsplash that won't clash with the granite...

I think if you do white gray Cabinets then you should probably do like tiles in the pictures i have attached, it has a mix of white, gray and black to make it pop

That's not soffit -- soffit is the drywall that comes down above your cabinets. It looks like your cabinets have some sort of veneer or baked-on finish that is peeling off. If you can get it cleanly off all the cabinets, then I guess you can prime and paint them, but I'd be surprised if it would come off everywhere, and what's underneath might or might not take paint well. You might want to take a peeling door to a kitchen shop or other place that might be able to tell you what kind of material you have and what options you have for refinishing it.

For sure, decide how you're handling the cabinets before worrying about anything else. If you go cream for cabinet paint, then you might want a gray or taupe glass backsplash (color taken from the counter), while if you go gray or end up with new wood faces (say), then a cream tile or glass could help keep the room light.

lbaguidy that is defiantly the cabinets finish, i think this might work either take out all the doors of the cabinets, sand and refinish them,or do take out all the cabinets take out the soffit on the top and put the cabinets higher and also refinish the cabinets
