Fab up your own ! Some 10m guage steel schedule 40 square tubing and a 2 " coupler and a set of axles and 10 " wheels and tires !

I bought a "Universal" brand 12.5 cu ft dump cart from Sears about 4 years ago and its held up well for me. I did have to replace one of the chinese tires that developed a slow leak in the sidewall. I've hauled quite a bit of firewood with it and haven't had any issues. Sears Outlet website

There is also a steel dump cart available

Make sure the total potential weight of your new trailer is within the weight the manufacturer recommends for towing with your tractor.

I have a 7 cuft cart that will hold about 800lbs of dirt. It is the size that is recommended for my JD LT155 lawn tractor. A 10 cuft cart is not recommended.

Thanks guys. The HD1000 couldn't handle half a load of dirt, bent the axle and blew a tire. I'll be using my '65 Bolens 1000, not sure what the limit for it is.

Do a google search on "65 Bolens 1000 attachments" from the information you find you should be able to assess the potential weight you can pull with the tractor.

I have had the Sears 12.5 linked above (EDIT: evidently Sears no longer carries the one I have this one) for over 7 years and have hauled 800 pounds without trailer damage. The 5/8" dia axles is plenty robust. If anything the sheet metal frame should fail long before the axle would bend.

You'll find actual specs on hauling capacity hard to come by. The engine and drive train are theoretically capable of pull much more than can be performed in practice due to breaking traction. However, just because it's theoretically possible does not mean that it will be safe or will not cause mechanical failure.

Let common sense be your guide. A rule of thumb, is to not exceed the total weight of the tractor and the operator to reduce the likelihood of loss of control or brake failure (many manufactures recommend no more than 1/2 total weight). If there is any deformation to the hitch hole or hitch plate, you are exceeding structural capacity-stop. If the engine lugs-stop. In the case of HST, if you are losing power or it takes increasing amount of peddle to move or maintain speed-stop. With a manual transmission, there are no real indicators prior to failure and damage, but if the engine is lugging, that can be a warning that you may be close to exceeding tranny capabilities-stop.

Since the tractor weighs 665 lb, and assuming you weigh less that 300 lb You should probably not pull any more that 965 lbs or about 10 cuft of dirt. including the weight of the trailer.

I picked up a John Deere model 80 trailer. Nice and solid.
