Not a terribly unusual occurence, but perhaps unusual in PJMs. Weather - temperatures and rainfall patterns - is the usual cause. Spring bloom will be diminshed but not eliminated entirely because of this. PJM, btw, is a variety of rhododendron, not an azalea.

Yup, not unusual for some to bloom a bit in the Fall.

Location is ALWAYS important.

My PJM is doing the same thing! I'm in central PA zone 6a. I assume our summer drought followed by a lot of fall rain may have caused it.
