Are you sure you want to ask for seeds, Ken? I think this is one plant that you want to make sure you buy. You want a male. Females produce a fruit or bud that apparently will drive you away. Check into it. If you ever see one planted, chances are it is a male. I think you might be taking a risk by asking for seeds. Just do some homework. Good luck.

Xtal, no, there is no practical way to tell the sex of a ginkgo seed. However, as long as you don't plant the tree where it drops fruit on a sidewalk or driveway or very close to your house, the fruit shouldn't be much of a problem. I am seldom able to even smell the fruit at all without picking it up and putting it near my nose. It can be a problem in some cases, but people make a much bigger deal out of it than it often is.
